Support for Faculty Directors of Current Programs
Asuccessful study abroad program requires the committment and cooperation of both the faculty who coordinate it and the International Office who administers it. Therefore it is exceedingly important for there to be clear communication between the faculty director(s) and the staff of the Office of International Studies and Programs.
All ISU study abroad faculty directors can be assured that the International Office will:
- create, maintain, and update flyers and other recruitment materials
- actively market programs to ISU students and eligible students from other U.S. universities
- meet with and advise students about available and appropriate programs
- prepare students for their program, including a comprehensive orientation for parents and students
- help students register for courses associated with their program
- print, provide, and process applications to all interested students
- provide copies of applications to faculty directors
- work with the faculty director(s) and associated partner instutions to create a yearly program budget
- bill students for appropriate program costs
- pay invoices from partners abroad
- work with Financial Aid to ensure that students' aid is applied to their program
- request courses to be listed at ISU for students to register
- provide students with necessary paperwork associated with their program
- collect necessary paperwork to forward to partners abroad
- assist students in applying for their visa (if necessary)
- maintain relationships with partners abroad
- maintain emergency protocol for each program
- keep abreast of current standards in international education
- collect and analyze student evaluations
